A survey would help us see the larger picture of our target group, and help us get a real grasp about how prevalent the issues we had seen in our contextual inquiry and diary studies actually are. Through a survey, we can ask a large group of participants the same, comparable questions, begin to understand the overall profile of users, and even push back or test the data gathered through diary studies.

Overarching research questions

• Do participants experience physical pain leading up to, and during their period?
• Do participants experience poor emotional control leading up to, and during their period? If so, do they have any coping strategies that are successful / have proved unsuccessful?
• Do participants experience cognitive change leading up to, and during their period? If so, do they have any coping strategies that are successful / have proved unsuccessful?
• What medical, physical, cognitive, etc. methods do they use to manage their menstruation pain?
• Are they satisfied with their current levels of pain/ emotional pain management strategies?
